VISION FOR HEALTH OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH
Malaysia is to be a nation of healthy
individuals, families and communities, through a health system that is
equitable, affordable, efficient, technologically appropriate, environmentally
adaptable and consumer-friendly, with emphasis on quality, innovation,
health promotion and respect for human dignity, and which promotes individual
responsibility and community participation towards an enhanced quality
of life.

VISION STATEMENT OF HKL
HKL shall be an institution of
excellence in health care education and research, driven by a dedicated
team providing professional client-centered service.
THE MISSION
HKL WILL PROVIDE QUALITY HEALTH CARE THAT :
- IS RESPONSIVE TO PUBLIC, CLIENTS AND EMPLOYEES
NEEDS;
- IS DELIVERED BY A TEAM OF SKILLED, INNOVATIVE,
COMMITED AND COMPASSIONATE PERSONNEL;
- INVOLVES PARTNERSHIP WITH INDIVIDUALS AND THE
COMMUNITY FOR PROMOTION OF HEALTH;
- WILL UNDERTAKE EDUCATION AND CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL LEVELS OF STAFF; AND
- CONDUCT BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH
OBJECTIVES
- To provide quality patient oriented service
based on humanistic values emphasing customer satisfaction and encompasing
promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects;
- To provide health education service to its clientele
and provide post basic and continuing medical education to its staff
to promote professionalism;
- To instill excellent work culture and to create
a conducive environment to deliver quality services;
- To make KLH a centre of excellence and national
referral centre,
- To establish KLH as a clinical research centre.

of the University Putra Malaysia and the Ministry Of Health
- continuining education for sub specialization
for doctors
basic and post basic training for nurses
- training centre for paramedics, radiographers,
physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and
clinical research.
PLANNING FOR THE YEAR 2020
Revamping of functions:
- KLH to become centre for tertiary care
- primary services to be resited outside KLH
bed strength reduced from 2585 to 1300
- Remaining land area to be rebuild into a referral
and tertiary care centre for a hospital of 1300 beds only.
